May Favourites

I am back again here with the Monthly Favourites post, which is not all about beauty (just to let you know). I don’t know about you and probably am repeating myself now but I really LOVE reading monthly favourites posts on other blogger’s blogs and can’t resist writing one myself. I hope you enjoy it too and if you guys would send me a link to your May favourites posts (via twitter  @Amila_Lt or in the comments below), I will be more than happy to read them! So, here’s my little list.

May favourites

Favourite Movie

I’ve seen a few movies this month and Focus is the winner of them all. Rarely do I watch a movie twice but I’ll probably watch this one again tonight. See, I only watch a movie twice (or sometimes twenty times) if it’s really entertaining. Like, Shrek or Just Go With It, but I don’t watch my favourite emotional dramas or other serious movies even if I loved them a lot. However, Focus is definitely entertaining. It’s the chemistry between the two main actors, funny dialogues, and the fact that everytime you think you know what’s going on, they surprise you. Not once, not twice, but way too many times, so you can never say the movie is transparent or boring. Definitely recommended to those who want to see a good crime comedy that actually makes you laugh! Otherwise just watch it for Will Smith and Margot Robbie.

Favourite Perfume

Now I am pretty sure that Kalvin Clein’s “Eternity” will be my favourite perfume for way longer than a month. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I bought perfume and was so excited about the scent. It makes me feel in love, it makes me feel fresh and it makes me look weird because I’m constantly smelling my wrists or a blouse. Oh well, it’s worth it. The scent is perfect for summer, not too strong but definitely long-lasting. You can also buy them for less on Amazon.

Favourite Skin Care Product

skin care products, cleanser, peaches and clean

Peaches and Clean 3-in-1 Wash-Off deep purigying cleanser. It’s suitable for all skin types and claims to purify your skin as well as remove make-up. I’ve been using this one 3 times a week for a couple of weeks now and can say two things. First, my skin breaks out less but I don’t actually know if it is this cleanser’s effect or other things I’ve done for my skin this month (like, changed my moisturizer and threw a foundation that might’ve been be out-dated away). However, the second thing is that the scent of the product is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I don’t know why the scents affect me so much. I think I even bought this cleanser just because I smelled it first. It is also of a very soft texture and feels nice on your skin, that I can definitely confirm. If you ever decide to try this out, look for it in the local boots in the UK (I’m not sure about other countries). It costs about 8 pounds.

Favourite Makeup Item

revlon colorstay foundation makeup

REVLON Colorstay liquid foundation in shade “200 nude”. That is my absolute favourite makeup purchase of the month. First of all, it’s suitable for normal to dry skin types which means if you have dry spots on your skin and usually find it difficult to hide them or to make your skin look even, that’s the foundation for you. Secondly, it claims to stay on your skin for 24 hours, give you a flawless look and a lightweight feel. Well, it doesn’t stay as flawless for 24 hours but still stays on my skin for longer than other foundations. It also does give me a lightweight feel and never looks kind of cakey on my skin. However, some people may not like the fact that it’s so fluid and doesn’t look like is possible to build up. Well, it is buildable so you can choose the amount of coverage you want but the “lightweight feel” is the main feature of this foundation.

Favourite Book

Sylvia Day captivated by you quotes

Sylvia Day’s Captivated by You. I have to admit that I haven’t read the previous Day’s books in the Crossfire series and was a little worried that I would have this feeling of jumping into the middle of the story and not really understanding the depth of it all. However, the book is written in a very smart way and allows you to fully enjoy it even if you haven’t read the previous ones. The most important thing here is two extremely complex characters, Gideon and Eva, who have just secretely married and try to build their quite new relationship. That is, of course, not easy to do as both of them have brought the baggage into their new relationship and now have to deal with it. Their love and trust are tested in many ways but I can’t talk about them because there will be no spoilers on my blog! Finally, I cannot say the book is one of the best books I’ve read in my entire life or even that it’s the one I would read again and again. However, it was truly enjoyable for me to read it this month and you might like it too if you’re into dramas or real-life relationships and don’t care that there’s not so much of a plot in the whole book.

So that was a short list of the things I enjoyed watching, reading or using this month. Where’s yours?

(If you enjoyed reading it, found at least something new or like something I liked this month – let me know by liking the post or leaving the comment. If you have a May Favourites post yourself, don’t forget to send me the link!!)
